Long Trail Brewing Co. In May, 1989, the Long Trail Brewing Co. set out on its mission to brew high-quality import alternatives. Bennington Battle MonumentBennington Battle Monument. The 306-foot Bennington Battle Monument first opened to the public in 1891. Construction began in 1887 to commemorate the August 16, 1777 Revolutionary War battle fought over the military storehouse located on the site where the monument now stands.
